North Ayrshire with a population of 139,000, is situated on Scotland's scenic south west coast.  The major towns are Irvine, Kilwinning, Ardrossan, Saltcoats, Stevenston, Kilbirnie, Beith, Dalry and Largs.  The area also includes the islands of Arran and Cumbrae.

The area has excellent leisure and educational facilities, quality housing developments and efficient road and rail networks.   Prestwick and Glasgow Airports lie just outside the Council's boundary.

North Ayrshire Council has 30 Councillors with a revenue budget of approximately £200 million and a workforce of around 6,500 employees who provide the full range of local authority services.

The Council is committed to being responsive and caring to its customers and to providing a high quality, fully integrated service to its community.
